- RACESBUL.212 DATE: March 9, 1992
- SUBJECT: OPS - Traffic vs. Information
-
- QUESTION: What is the difference between traffic and information
- via the RACES?
-
- REPLY: Traffic is formal message traffic between two or more
- points. It is usually delivered to an addressee in a printed or written
- record form. Information, on the other hand, is in the form of informal
- and second-hand reports, observations, and intercepts that may be of
- interest or value to the officials involved with the incident. Much can be
- learned by assigning operators to listening for information, writing it
- down, and forwarding it to the EOC operations section. ---KH6GBX
